Tennis star Serena Williams underwent "emergency treatment" Monday, days after doctors discovered a blood clot in her lungs, People magazine reported.

Spokeswoman Nicole Chabot told the magazine that Williams, of Palm Beach Gardens, "underwent emergency treatment for a hematoma suffered as a result of treatment for a more critical situation."

Get Well Soon Serena.

Its very serious indeed. Lets hope she's okay.......
And I'm wondering what the "more critical" condition she was treated for caused this, clots in the lungs are about as dangerous as it gets!

A cut foot led to a blood clot in the lungs?

7. She's on blood thinner, I doubt she'll be able to compete
For at least 6 months maybe more..It will be too dangerous for her to train, let alone compete while on these drugs. Unfortunately I think its likely she won't compete in ANY tournaments this year.
