3. The level of hatred and racism toward these kids from the Michigan Alumni is...
Shocking.

It goes to show you that SOME things NEVER change.

15. Loved Jalen Rose when he played for the Pacers
Didn't get many minutes when he was with the Suns but his career was over-the-hill at that point.

5. I thought it was extremely well done
I'm really impressed with Jalen Rose has done as an adult. He funds five academic scholarships at Michigan for Detroit kids, he has a section at Crisler Arena called the Rose Garden that's for elementary kids from Detroit schools; he buys t-shirts, game tickets, food vouchers, and pays for the bus and chaperones, and he's endowed a charter school in Detroit as well. And he's maintained a good relationship with the UM athletic department.

The film was an eye-opener for me; even though I lived here at the time (and still do) and I knew there were letters from alumni and fans of the program complaining about the Fab Five and their style I had no idea of the depth of the hatred or how racist they were. That's horrible and I'm ashamed of my fellow alumni.

That Duke team was obnoxious, and the fact that five freshmen even got to the finals was astonishing.

Here's a taste of Dukie sportsmanship: http://www.google.com/#hl=en&sugexp=ernk_lssbd&pq=laettner%20kick%20kentucky%20player%20head&xhr=t&q=laettner%20Aminu%20Timberlake%20kick&cp=30&pf=p&sclient=psy&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=laettner+Aminu+Timberlake+kick&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&fp=a50d8bbb4089c98a

The clip I saw was Jalen saying Duke wouldn't recruit him, because they didn't recruit inner-city black kids whose parents hadn't gone to college. That's not trash talk - that's the truth.

I saw the Fab Five play in a regional game in Seattle in 1992. I arranged getting tickets for our alumni club, and we had hundreds of fans there to cheer them on. Apparently the team was excited by this and asked how we got so many fans there, and someone pointed me out to them. In betweeen games of the first round, after hearing this, Chris Webber walked up to me in the stands and said, "Are you Lisa?" as heads craned. I said yes, and he thanked me for getting all the fans there, and he asked for my ticket, and he signed it. I liked that team. That's why I don't want to watch the documentary; it will be bittersweet for me.

10. i appreciate what you said in this comment
The only thing I have to say is I have always blamed Jalen Rose for Webber's mistake. If you watch the replays the two guards run away from Webber and Webber is stuck dribbling the ball. He is 6'10" tall. Rose should have demanded the ball.

14. Not something I'll watch
I will remember though the 77-71 win by the Heels in the '93 Finals and the 71-51 beatdown administered by Duke in the '92 Finals. Outplayed and outcoached in both games.
