Well, I don't hate the Giants this much:
Dodger fans attack, critically injure Giants fan

LOS ANGELES—Los Angeles police are looking for two men who beat and critically injured a San Francisco Giants fan in the Dodger Stadium parking lot after the opening day game.

Sgt. Sanford Rosenberg said Friday that two men in Dodgers clothing followed three men in Giants gear as they walked to their car after Thursday night's 2-1 Dodger victory.

Rosenberg says the attackers yelled slurs against the Giants and began kicking and punching the men.

One victim suffered a head injury and was hospitalized in critical but stable condition.

Rosenberg said his injury is not life-threatening.

Investigators have no suspects' identities and are asking anyone with information on the attack to call police.

8. It might...
Typical Giants "fans" obsessing over L.A.

I don't recall Dodgers fans pulling shit like this when the '89 season began.

Congrats S.F, only four more championships to catch the Dodgers since the move.

4. And I'm sure you don't hate them this much either:
September 28, 2003

MONROVIA, Calif. -- A 25-year-old San Francisco Giants fan killed during a post-game dispute in the Dodger Stadium parking lot was laid to rest Saturday.

More than 600 mourners, including Harley-Davidson bikers and several Los Angeles Dodgers executives, said goodbye to Marc Antenorcruz, a sophomore at Mount San Antonio College, described as sensitive and caring.

"Marc, it's been over a week since God made the choice to call you," said his father, Alan. "The love we have for each other and for God will last forever. I will not say goodbye, but until we meet again.

"Salamat, ( Thank you, in the Philippine language of Tagalog) my son."

Antenorcruz was shot once in the upper body while heading for his car after a Sept. 19 Dodgers-Giants game. Police said the shooting followed an argument between the Covina man, two men and a woman, over the teams.

6. First off:
Let me condemn this strongly. This is attrocious behavior for any sport's fan to engage in. And I will say, even though I'm a Dodgers fan, the quality of the average fan in L.A. is far below the average Giant's fan, which I believe are probably the best fans in baseball, except possibly the St. Louis fans.

That being said, I have to wonder about a few things.

There is not enough info in the article. What were the circumstances? The article said the Giants fans were followed to their car. Did this altercation begin in the parking lot or did it start up in the stands? Was this started by bad behavior by the visiting team's fans? What was said between the two groups? Was alcohol or drugs involved? Was there any racist behavior displayed by either group? We don't know the whole story here. More info is needed before I can definitively address this. By no means am I trying to excuse this thuggish behavior but we need more info here...

7. UPDATE: police release sketches of attackers; Stow "fighting for life."

April 2, 2011 / S.F. Chronicle

A 41-year-old Santa Cruz man who traveled to Los Angeles to support the San Francisco Giants in the season opener against their archrivals was on life support Friday after being beaten by two Dodgers fans.

Bryan Stow, a father of two who works as a paramedic, was leaving the stadium with two friends after watching the Giants lose 2-1 Thursday night when the two men began to harass the group, said Los Angeles police Detective P.J. Morris. Stow was wearing Giants gear.

As the friends walked toward the parking lot, one of the attackers punched Stow in the back of the head, police said. Stow fell and hit his head on the pavement, and authorities say his attackers continued to kick him as he lay unconscious. His friends were attacked when they tried to intervene. Their injuries were minor, police said.

But Stow is fighting for his life. "He is stable at this point, (but) it could take a turn for the worse," Morris said, adding that doctors hope that brain swelling will subside and he will be able to breathe on his own.

15. Busy arresting 89 other "fans"....
which was actually down from last year's opening day in which they arrested 132..

In 2009, also against the Giants, a man was stabbed in the parking lot..

Dodger stadium has got some real problems. Even the LA media is asking questions.

Edited on Sun Apr-03-11 08:53 AM by Upton
In 2003, a Giants fan was killed in Dodger stadium parking lot. In 2009, a man was stabbed. Now, we have another poor guy beaten within an inch of his life in a medically induced coma just because he was a Giants fan. Lets just hope he survives without any permanent damage.

I submit this could not "have happened anywhere"..Dodger stadium has become thug central. A haven for gangsters and wannabes whose sole purpose in life is to cause trouble..

Now obviously they are not representative of all Dodger fans, but let me ask you a question...would you feel completely safe dressing your family in Giants gear and taking them to Dodger stadium?

22. It's not just me saying those things..
It may be a dirty little secret, nationally, where the perception is that Dodgers fans are ultra-mellow. You know, “they come late and leave early!” thing. Too cool for school.

In point of fact, Dodger Stadium has been filled with dozens, maybe even hundreds of thugs almost every game for years now. Obscenity-spewing, tatted-up gangsters, often-drunk, who can ruin a game for anyone in their vicinity.

They are particularly common in the pavilions and the top deck, but almost no part of the stands are safe, aside from the most expensive seats on the field level.

Frank McCourt is a bad owner. We know that. But his biggest failing is not adequately addressing what appears to be an ongoing, perhaps even growing problem with bad-acting fans.

31. You're full of it
2 incidents in the last two years...out of 3 million fans every year, and you're trying to tell me it's typical? The vast majority of Dodger fans don't participate in this hooliganism. It could have happened at almost any other ball park. Just happened to be Dodger stadium this time.

And the Dodgers are beefing up security from what I hear. So you can rest easy and not fear the "tatted-up homies" (racist imagery, much?).

32. Sure..no gang problem in LA..
nothing but "racist imagery." That must be why the new Dodger stadium beefed up security includes, according to the LA media, the "LAPD bringing anti-gang skills to Dodger Stadium"..which means, among other things, for the first time ever and against previous Dodger policy, armed police will now patrol inside the stadium..

http://articles.latimes.com/2011/apr/09/local/la-me-0409-dodger-security-20110409

LA is the birthplace of modern day gang culture. It shouldn't come as any surprise that they've invaded Dodger Stadium.

Bryan Stow, a husband and the father of two children now lies in a coma, likely with permanent brain damage. I don't know why you continue to try and downplay this incident..

21. Fund set up to help Giants fan attacked at Dodger Stadium..
Edited on Mon Apr-04-11 05:41 PM by Upton
friends and family of Bryan Stow, the San Francisco Giants fan who was attacked on Opening Day outside Dodger Stadium on Thursday, have started up a Facebook page, blog and fund to help pay for Stow’s medical bills and to update well-wishers on his condition.

The fund and Facebook page (which already has over 5,700 "likes") were set up by Stow’s paramedic partner, Rebecca Mackowiak of San Jose.

Those who wish to help can attend a special BBQ fundraiser on Wednesday in San Jose or a fundraiser at a local bay area pizza joint to assist Stow's family, who is staying with him in the Intensive Care Unit in L.A. Stow has two young children.

25. L.A. City Council doubles reward in Giants fan's beating to $100,000
L.A. Times / April 5, 2011

Outrage over the Giants fan attacked in the parking lot of Dodger Stadium after Thursday’s season opener continues to be felt.

The reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the two suspects has grown to $100,000 after the Los Angeles City Council voted Tuesday afternoon to double the previous total.

The City Council’s pledge of $50,000 follows $25,000 offered by the Dodgers, $10,000 by Supervisor Mike Antonovich, $10,000 by the Giants and $5,000 by the American Medical Response.

AMR is the company that employs the 42-year-old victim, Bryan Stow, a father of two from Santa Cruz. He remains in critical condition in a medically induced coma.

"There is evidence of brain injury and dysfunction," Zada said.

It was too early to make a prognosis but such injuries can affect memory, thinking ability and even personality, Zada said.

"It's going to be a long recovery process," he said.

33. Dodgers, SF Giants fans display sportsmanship at start of new series
sfgate.com / 4-12-11

Raul Rodriguez was wearing his blue-and-white Los Angeles Dodgers poncho, tailgating with his buddies from Sacramento in a parking lot near AT&T Park on Monday when a woman introduced herself and then hugged him.

She was Rene Eisaman, a cousin of Giants fan Bryan Stow, the Santa Cruz paramedic who was beaten outside the Giants' season opener March 31 in Los Angeles and remains in a medically induced coma. Several other Dodgers fans said Eisaman hugged them, too.

"I just wanted to welcome them and shake their hand," said Eisaman, who traveled from her home in Missouri to visit her cousin in Los Angeles. "This is about sportsmanship."

Her gesture, heartfelt and personal, was made in a dirt lot far from the higher-than-usual number of TV cameras that came for a Monday night game in April.

34. Dodgers end 1/2 price alcohol promotion...will have another fundraiser for Stow
The Los Angeles Dodgers announced on Wednesday that the promotion they have planned for their six midweek home games this season no longer will include half-price alcoholic beverages, a decision clearly made as part of a series of measures being taken by the club -- including an increased police presence around the stadium -- in an attempt to ensure the safety of fans following the assault that took place in the parking lot after the team's season opener.

Thursday's game between the Dodgers and St. Louis Cardinals will be the first home game at Dodger Stadium since Dodgers owner Frank McCourt, Los Angeles police chief Charlie Beck and Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa announced last Friday that the team will pay for increased on-duty police officers and security at home games.
-------
The Dodgers will host another fundraiser for Stow at Thursday's game. Colleagues from American Medical Response, his employer, will be at the stadium collecting donations before, during and after the game.

A similar event at Dodger Stadium on Monday raised $61,000 and $58,800 at AT&T Park in San Francisco, according to Jason Sorrick, a spokesman for AMR. Additional funds were raised in a silent auction at AT&T Park, pushing the total from San Francisco to almost $70,000, the Giants announced Tuesday. The reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the two suspects in the case is $150,000. The suspects remain at large.

http://sports.espn.go.com/los-angeles/mlb/news/story?id=6348290

Here come the Dodgers and their increased security. Something the the Mayor and LA City Council should be thanked for, as originally, even after the beating, McCourt and the Dodgers didn't seem too interested in going that route..

Notice how, even with the $150,000 reward, apparently nobody has come forward to identify the perpetrators. An estimated 100 people saw the beating, but these guys are gangsters, and folks are understandably scared..
