might the Red Sox start the year at 0 - 9 before finally playing a team they can beat, the Tampa Bay Rays?

2. Cleveland is not a good team |
|
and they just swept us. I'm not sure we can beat anyone, so don't think the Rays can't do what Cleveland and Texas did.
Unreal.

3. 1-0 is more troubling. |
|
Zero!
Can't win if you don't score. The bare minimum is 1 to win.

No run support from our allegedly devastating offense. Argh.

5. We suck, no doubt about it...Francona is a good coach and a bad coach... |
|
he knows the game, but he does not inspire...and over the last couple years they've needed someone who can motivate and inspire them...it will be a lousy season and Francona will be gone half way through.

10. I haven't had any faith in the pitching since Farrell left for Toronto. |
|
He was hugely undervalued, imo.

12. Well, he was there last year and they didn't have good pitching... |
|
everyone thinks they have good pitching because of the reputation of some guys who did well previously...Beckett hasn't been good since 2007, Lester starts slow, Dice-K needs to go...lackey was a big mistake...

14. I was hoping last season was an anomaly. |
|
Now, it looks like a trend. Oh, wait! 156-6! Remember, you heard it here, first!

6. I love it! The team with the $49,188,867 payroll |
|
dominated the team with the $161,407,476 payroll. Cleveland played sound defense, executed the fundamentals and pitched surprisingly solid. Qualities of good teams.

11. I wonder if Adrian Gonzales is missing the lineup protection he had in SD. |
|
Hey, at least the Sox aren't in the basement alone. If they could win 89 last year sporting a starting outfield of Daniel Nava, Darnell McDonald and Ryan Kalish, along with god knows who at 1st and 2nd base and "clean up hitter" Kevin Cash for half a season, I'm sure they'll be fine this season if they stay healthy.

I wouldn't worry too much. Yet. They still have time to turn it around.
