1. I was waiting until they got into first place to kick this...
but, as of today, May 21, 2011, Rapture Day, if the playoffs started today, the Red Sox would be in, the Spankmes, out.

4. Well, the pitching will certainly keep them from running away with
the division, probably even keep them from winning it.

5. It's always the pitching, isn't it?
Tito's got his work cut out for him with the bullpen this season, but the hitting is coming around. It'll be a fun season!

"...lo and behold, with the Yankees losing in Seattle Friday night, your Red Sox took over sole occupancy of first place in the American League East headed into action Saturday."

"The Sox, winners of 12 of their last 14 games, begin play Saturday with a 29-22 record, a game ahead of the Yankees, who have played two fewer games and are 27-22."

13. I don't care for the Red Sox, but you have to hand it to Terry Francona...
I'm assuming he's repsonsible for keeping the team focused so they could turn it around.
