Not at this time anyway. This guy can do amazing things. He is so quick that the opposition can't stop him when he drives the lane. They can't stop him when he makes some of the best passes one will ever see. They can't stop him when he hits jump shot after jump shot. It's time the national media gave him and the Bulls some pub. They did finish with the best record in the league. Not the Lakers, not the Heat, not the Celtics. The Bulls, led by the guy who better be the MVP, Derrick Rose.

1. Ummm---
Finishing with the best record means squat. Now it's the big time when teams like the Lakers turn it on.

Derrick Rose is certainly fantastic... but can he carry his team alone like he did yesterday throughout the rest of the playoffs?

And---statistically he didn't finish in the top 5 of any category---scoring, rebounds, assists, etc.

So--- I have to disagree with you about him being the best.

2. I would say he's easily MVP
as MVP is a regular season award.

And he's clearly in the discussion for best in the league. Who's ahead of him? An aging Kobe? A tech-ridden Dwight Howard?

3. Even Bosh and Juwan Howard think Rose should be MVP
As do I.

4. Not saying he shouldn't be MVP
Because he clearly is to his team.

But in my mind the best player in basketball should be in the top 5 of at least one of the important categories.

He's not.

6. He is only .3 from the top 5 in scoring
Is it that big of a difference to dismiss him? That said I think Lebron James is probably the best when it comes to scoring, passing, rebounding, and defense but Rose clearly belongs in the discussion as one of the best players.

7. I liked Michael Beasley above Rose in the draft a few years ago
Probably lower than 50/50 right now
