What's up with Cleveland? (Indians) |
|
As a Giants fan, I'm keeping an eye on the potential competition, and while I can't watch the games, I'm watching the stats for Cleveland and it seems they are performing really well. Or is it that everyone else in their division/league is messing up?
I won't see them face the Giants until well into June, should I be concerned?

1. Starting pitching, solid bullpen and clutch hitting |
|
They're holding their own against decent teams and playing really well at home despite injuries to top hitters and pitchers.
Looks like they'll sweep the Reds this weekend. Next up is Boston and Tampa Bay -- a good test.
As a fan of both teams I'm looking forward to the Giants series.

2. Reds were doing well last I checked |
|
If they're still a good team, it is impressive for Cleveland to sweep this team(if they hold on).

3. It's bizarre. Cleveland lost 93 games last year... |
|
had a mediocre 2011 Spring and was rocked by the White Sox in the opening two games. Then this. I hope they can keep it up.

4. They were a really young team last year that started to grow up in the 2nd half of the season. |
|
The progressions has continued into this season. Good health has helped, and the AL Central is a bum's paradise this year. (WTF is with the Twinkies???)
If Cleveland and KC don't dump anyone that costs money, they could be the class of the AL Central for years to come.
