Joakim Noah admits to using gay slur, aplogizes
http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/05/23/joakim-noah-apparently-caught-using-gay-slur/

After the game Noah admitted to his use of the gay slur and apologized for it, as reported by the Associated Press.

“I apologize,” Noah told reporters. “The fan said something to me that I thought was disrespectful, and I got caught up in the moment, and I responded. I said some things that I shouldn’t have said. I was frustrated and I didn’t mean any disrespect to anybody.”

That was good of Noah to do, the right thing to do. Own up to your mistakes. That’s not going to save him from the massive fine on the way, that precedent has been set.

After picking up his second foul early in the first quarter of the Chicago Bulls’ Game 3 loss to the Miami Heat, Joakim Noah was caught by TNT cameras using the same gay slur that Kobe Bryant directed at referee Benny Adams in April. TNT cameras followed Noah to the bench, where Noah was in an argument with a fan and appeared to call him a “f*****g f****t.”

3. Yup, and in a way this is worse, saying it to a fan as opposed to
a ref...no excuse for either, but players should never engage fans.

4. Oh, I dunno. There are times when engaging the fans can be a lot of fun.
Like this great moment...

I never tire of watching Mike Milbury rip the guy's shoe off and then whack him with it lol. Here's a tip to Ranger fans: Don't steal a NHL player's stick from the bench and then hit him with it. :)

Fuck this weasel. And learn how to speak the King's English, you ignorant fuck ("I don't mean no disrespect to anybody")...

Looks like NBC Sports fixed the grammar for him (http://www.tmz.com/2011/05/23/joakim-noah-gay-slur-homophobic-chicago-bulls-nba-playoffs-tnt-miami-heat/)

14. Here's what I found on the double fine
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=ycn-8525609

May 23 David Stern handed down the punishment for Joakim Noah.and the fine was half of Kobe Bryant's, $50,000. The league office commented on the difference between the two fines. NBA spokesman Mark Broussard told ESPN Chicago, "Kobe's fine included discipline for verbal abuse of a game official."

There is a little inconsistency regarding this fine, though. Look Noah and the rest of the league were warned after Kobe's incident that this would not be tolerated. You are on TV the whole time. There is no mistaking that there are cameras everywhere in that arena. Some people have to learn to control themselves. You see it in Baseball all the time. My God when we were kids how many times did you hear - We need a Pitcher not a Belly Itcher or Swing Batter Batter Swing?? The crowd may have taunted him, but a true professional should learn to block it out. As pitchers do every game.

15. You'd think the fine should go up since they were all warned...
Again, I wonder if it's only $50K since he doesn't make as much as Kobe...if someone like Rose or Wade or anyone in the same earning league as Kobe had done it, maybe it would have been more.

16. The Word From The League Is. . .
. . .that Kobe direted it at an official, so that's why the fine was higher. I do, however, agree that fines should be proporational when we're talking about one guy making $20 million and the other guy $4 million.

17. Yeah, I hand't realized they had split Kobe's $100K into two parts, one for the
slur and one for saying it to an official.

19. So do I
Less chance of missing the hole(My initial burst can be a little unpredictable sometimes), it is more comfortable, and I get some reading done.

Personally, I think you can come up with a better insult than suggesting he is a woman but that's just me.

The guy is 6'11", weighs about 260 and can bench press over 400 pounds. He pull the captain's head off and kick it down the street.
