ROFL! Giants want me to buy seats for $5,000 each |
|
Yesterday I got a notice that lucky me, I can buy seats in the two new rows of seats they installed a few years ago on a platform in front of what used to be the first row up and down the sidelines. They were giving them away to VIPs until this year. Now they want $5,000 per ticket per season (they don't sell by the game). These seats are on top of a plywood and iron platform that is rolled away when there is no football games, sort of temporary seats.
Regular seats one row behind them sell for $700 for the season. WTF?

You pay for the tix. There are no other fees. $5,000 per seat per year and you get them every year. I think, however, they are giving season tix holders first crack because I have season tix and it looks like it was a mass mailing to all ticket holders.

6. About the same here, $700 per season |
|
I am row 18 in the lower deck. It is making me wonder what the seats at the new field they are going to build will cost.

What are these bleachers past the wall?
I still haven't forgiven them for walling up the lower section for the World Cup.
I'm also pissed that my Dad finally got his hands on season tickets in the family name and they're building a new stadium.

8. Yeah, 2 rows of extra seats installed in front of the wall |
|
They go almost all the way around the stadium, including both sidelines and one endzone. Their ad said they are throwing in free parking ($15 per game normally), valet food & beverage service, a pre and post game special lounge for those ticket holders only with food and "beverages" included free, a dinner on the field once per season with some players and coaches, tix to a pre-draft strategy session and, last but not least, some undescribed free "memorabilia".

10. I went to the Pittsburgh games last year.... |
|
...it was my first "home" game is a couple of years (I now live in San Diego).
I guess I imbibbed a little to much because I either didn;t see the seats or completely forgot about them.

I can not, for the life of me, understand why anybody would spend a gazillion dollars to go see a bunch of steroid taking rich kids playing with their balls. In the old days, my father could take us to see a game without taking out a second mortgage on the house. I'm talking Willie Mays and Jim Davenport days. Now, you buy way overpriced season tickets and if your team makes it to the playoffs, they price the playoff tickets so that only the very rich can afford them. I say fuck em all! I have no interest in professional sports that the working man can't afford. In fact, I have no interest in sports I can't play, which leaves me with golf. I can't play golf well, but at least I can go out there and pretend.
