The Yankees have their motor running
and are not giving the Red Sox a nanosecond of slack time. Heavy breathing on Boston's neck.

September arrives next week, and I reckon it will be another doozy in the AL East.

What happened to the Os? They were so hot in the spring, right up to summer solstice. Then...down the tubes.

1. Don't torment Kleeb like this
his O's faded badly. I think both the Sox and Yanks make the playoffs again.

2. I'm ready.
Bring 'em on (the Yanks). Win or lose, it will be another Great Matchup.

At least we finally got ONE World Series win. I can go to my grave peacefully with that, no matter what the future may bring.

6. Dave....I have to concede on Torre.....
...and whether he's a good manager.

Mariano's been pitching so much lately I find myself screaming at Joe for putting him...again...and again.

7. Sturtze has been criminally overused of late
Its a good thing Gordon got sick. At least he got a little rest.

8. What do you think of the other relievers?
Felix seems decent. Proctor has been hit or miss.

9. Felix needs to be used a lot more
and Proctor should be used in spots as well. Small is also currently in the pen.

The crux of the problem is that he uses Gordon, Sturtze and Rivera in too many blowout games. He pitched Sturtze on Monday with a 6-0 lead. Why couldn't Felix be in that spot. It makes no sense. You only pitch the big three in games where we are leading by 3 runs or less or trailing by 1-2 runs. I don't know why this is so hard to figure.

10. He's killing me...
...friends have taken to restraining me when I see Mo in the BP ;-)

The guy for the Jays tonite has been getting rocked this month. Hopefully Moose will continue to pitch well.

12. How about Small?
Edited on Wed Aug-24-05 05:32 PM by rinsd
What is he 34? 35? Journeyman minor leaguer....he's been a very pleasant surprise.

And there's good news coming out about Wang who may be ready in Sept.

Is it really possible that we may end up with TOO many starters after this year of injuries?

14. What do you think the problem with RJ is?
Father time finally catching up? Something with his mechanics?

16. Very possible....
I was hoping that when summer rolled around his back would loosen up but that has not been the case.

That MRI he had a couple of weeks ago did not sound encouraging.

Off to watch the game. Go Yanks!
