Seven different players score goals for Team Canada Team Canada beat Sweden 8-1 Monday afternoon at Ralph Engelstad Arena in Grand Forks, ND. Canada got goals from seven different players including two from Sydney Crosby. Team Canada used the momentum from killing three different five on three power plays to dominate the Swedes in the final two periods of the game. The Canadians outplayed the Swedes in all facets of the game to up their record to 2-0 in the tournament.
“Overall we weren’t pleased with our play the other night. We didn’t have a let down tonight, we played the way we wanted to play by doing the little things well, everyone committed to defense first.” Said Canadian coach Brent Sutter of his team’s performance.

Team USA got off to a quick start, scoring two times in the first six minutes of an opening period that would see six total goals. North Dakota forward Drew Stafford opened the scoring, delighting a hometown crowd of over 9,000 with a one-timer over the glove of Russian goalie Anton Khudobin. Chris Bourque increased the U.S. lead to two, knocking in his own rebound just 1:20 later.
