woof, woof. Hopefully Lavar Arrington will not end his season before it begins.

1. Didn't go so great. But rookies tend to get better. I still think
this will be a good year for the Bears because our D is awesome and the O should get much better.

Bensen will jump start the running game, Orton will improve and find another receiver besides Moose and the Bears will be a surprise team by the end of the year.

3. A VAST improvement over last year.
They only scored one TD (and barely lost) but they at least had the look of a team not trying desperately not to lose.

I like the way Orton plays. Grossman would have been better but Orton has that QB confidence thing going for him.

2. Someone needs to get some Velcro gloves for Orton's receivers
Orton was better than his supporting cast.

4. Not very impressive
But that's what you get with rookie QBs against good defenses. Washington won't beat many other teams with that offense.

6. Not to give a lot
Of credit to Washington's offense because it is awful, but the Bears defense is very good. I live in the Chicago/Milwaukee area and there were a lot of Bears fans who legitamately thought that because of there defense and before Benson's holdout and Grossma's injury that there team could make the playoffs.

8. I may have been wrong about Orton
Edited on Tue Sep-20-05 01:19 AM by Awsi Dooger
I didn't like the mechanics of his release at all in college. It looked too slow and elongated and that's normally suicidal in the NFL. See example A, Tim Couch.

But immediately as a pro Orton looked much better in that regard. I saw him in the Hall of Fame game and the mechanics were shortened and quicker. That was the only major flaw so the Bears may have a find. The team itself is impressive in many areas.
