Mets Trade For Carlos Delgado
Jon Heyman at Newsday is reporting, and I heard it this morning on ESPN radio, that the Mets have traded first baseman Mike Jacobs and a pitching prospect to the Marlins for 1st baseman Carlos Delgado.

Wow.

2. I'll say!
This is one Mets fan that is happy to help the Marlins further dismantle their team. We got one of the premiere players in the league for peanuts. I liked what I saw from Mike Jacobs but c'mon its friggen Delgado! Now all we need to do is seal the deal with Wagner and get ourselves a catcher and we are in business!

3. The Mets could have three major moves on the horizon
1. Getting Manny Ramirez.
2. Getting Alfonzo Soriano.
3. Getting Billy Wagner.

Add those three players and the Mets are a playoff lock. This would be their lineup...

1. Jose Reyes SS
2. Carlos Beltran CF
3. David Wright 3B
4. Manny Ramirez RF
5. Carlos Delgado 1B
6. Cliff Floyd LF
7. Alfonzo Soriano 2B
8. whatever catcher they get

That's one hell of a scary lineup!

7. Unfortunately for the Mets, I don't think Manny's interested
He wants to go out west--the Angels and the D'backs are offering Troy Glaus and Steve Finley.

8. wow...
The Mets are really stepping up to the plate, first Delgardo, then almost the same day Wagner :wow: Any more additions will be gravy! BUT...I don't want to see Manny with the Mets, he's not eexactly a good outfielder :eyes:

Meanwhile, I hope Omar goes back to the Marlins and is able to get perhaps one or two more of their good young players  The Yankees haven't done jack shit this ofseason!!!

4. Go Omar!
Awesome, now get Luis Castillo(2nd base), get Hernandez(Catcher), sign Wagner(RP), and trade for Javier Vasquez(SP). I'd rather be strong up the middle defensively to help out our pitchers.

Reyes
Beltran
Wright
Delgado
Floyd
Nady/Diaz
Castillo
Hernandez/Castro

Martinez
Glavine
Vasquez
Benson
Trachsel
Seo
Ring
Bell
Heilman
Padilla
Hernandez
Wagner

out the door:
Kaz (both of them)
Zambrano
Mientkevich
Looper
Mr.Koo

5. Until Reyes gets his OBP up over .300...
He should not be a leadoff man, no matter how much he looks like one.
