The Rangers are actually addressing their pitching woes and not sacrificing too much to get what they need. Last week they traded Soriano to the Nationals in exchange for decent pitcher, a prospect, who was later traded to the Padres in today's trade, and Brad Wilkerson who could even be trade bait later. Then today, as previously mentioned, they just announced a trade with the Padres for Adam Eaton and Akinori Otsuka. Could it be that my Rangers may actually make it to the Post-season? Be still my heart! ;)

1. I see the trade differently. They gave up a key part of their |

rotation to get a starting pitcher entering the last year of his contract. It might be true that Eaton has higher up-side potential, plus Otsuka might be a nice set-up man, but I can't get that excited about this trade.

Eaton will cost them some money but he is pretty young with a strong arm. I'm just glad to see them investing in someone young. I am sorry to see Young go though. I liked him even though he did have stamina issues toward the end of the season. They have freed up some money though letting Soriano go. If Eaton proves himself I hope they nail him down before they have to go arbitration when and if he becomes a free agent.
