I don't think Carson OR Ben are good looking! Carson looks like a horsey version of Elway and Ben isn't even the best looking guy on his own team, IMHO. There are some fine looking Steelers, such as Heinz Ward and Troy Polamalu (what a wild cutie!), but Ben has a face like an Idaho spud.

Now, if you want to talk about good looking quarterbacks, there's Tom Brady and Trent Green, for starters. I can't abide Brady but I'll admit he's a looker. But then I don't see every issue through Steeler (or Bengals) colored glasses.

Oh... and just so you'll know... I was a fan of Ben the QB long before you ever set eyes on him, as I rooted for him when he was playing at Miami. I also think he was the best QB in the draft that year, despite the collective drooling over Eli Manning.

This was not a comparison between Carson and Ben, nor anything to do with a feud between Bengals and Steelers. The original question was, "What celebrity does Ben Roethlisberger look like?" I found the question frivolous and therefore supplied a frivolous answer. I think Big Ben is homely. That has nothing to do with my opinion of him as a QB. Am I not entitled to MY opinion without you making this some issue over the Bengals? (re: your odd comment about Carson, as if my opinion of BR's looks has anything to do with the Bengals. How bizarre!)

Now I happen to be fond of the Eagles but if Ty Detmer isn't the ugliest QB in football I'll eat my OSU Nat'l Champs hat. Conversely, I despise the Redskins but I happen to think QB Mark Brunell is the epitome of sportsmanship and graciousness. That's what I mean by objectivity. You, on the other hand, assume that any negative comment I make involving a Steeler is clouded by my love for the Bengals. Sorry, but you are WRONG. (See the thread "NFL: Ref Botched The Call" if you wish an example.) There are plenty of good looking guys on the Steelers, but IMHO Ben looks more like Randy Quaid than Dennis Quaid.

YOU are the one who keeps injecting "the game" into every conversation. YOU are the one who insists on making any opinion contrary to yours one of Bengals/Steelers rivalry. Of course you're entitled to think Ben is the next Tom Cruise if you want to do so. But if I disagree don't assume that I'm doing so because I'm a Bengals fan. THAT'S what I mean by a lack of objectivity.

And you should really chill out. You started off with the "you could use some objectivity" and the "Steelers colored glasses." Lots (and I do mean LOTS) of people think Big Ben is a handsome guy - and I'd bet most of them aren't even Steelers fans. I am a die hard Eagles fan but I agree Ben is handsome. Maybe not in a conventional, chiseled face way, but he's got a nice body and just looks like a cutie-patootie.

You can disagree, but to imply that only Steelers fans think he's hot (and only because he's a Steeler) is, well, ludicrous.

And no, I didn't start off with "you could use some objectivity", I was *responding to* a snarky comment (a swipe at Carson Palmer, as if I give a hoot) which was made in response to what I believed to be a humorous post on my part. (And to be precise, I said "Steelers (or Bengals) colored glasses." Quote me correctly.)

And certainly I don't believe that only Steelers fans find Ben attractive -- but if someone doesn't find him attractive that doesn't mean their opinion is crap because they happen to be a fan of another team. If someone from Pittsburg thinks Carson Palmer looks like John Elway on steroids that's their right, but I'm not going to assume they have that opinion solely because they're a Steelers fan. That's what the whole objectivity argument is about.

I made what I thought was a funny post and got a snarky comment in return. Who's lacking the sense of humor here? I might as well be banging my head against a wall.
