Pardon The Interruption Tossup question of the week |
|
"Which is more embarassing, having a baseball bounce off your head and go over the wall, or having it bounce up into your sleeve, requiring you to pull it out of your collar before it falls down your shirt?"
The latter happened to some poor guy from the Balitmore Orioles when they played the Mets today. Almost missed it, too, due to the bar also showing a Washington National hit a walk-off homer against the Yankees!

And can you imagine how much worse off he'd be if the ball HAD slipped down into his shirt? Come back Jose Canseco, all is forgiven! I guess he can consider himself off the hook now, like Bill Buckner after the Bosox won their World Series.

8. His name is Ed Rogers... |
|
the funny thing is, he wasn't even supposed to be in the game. The starting outfielder was tossed earlier in the game arguing balls and strikes.
I still don't know how that could have happened, the ball literally bounced up his sleeve, rolled up his jersey and landed in his collar. They must have shown the replay 10 times during the game and I still couldn't believe my eyes

maybe next time that player will button his shirt all the way up. too many players leave their shirt unbuttoned at the top.
what happened to the good old days when all the players wore uniforms that actually fit properly and they buttoned their shirts up?
btw i love it when some players wear their pants legs high in the old style.

5. Thanks for the memories |

My father once played in a big band where he'd tell us that you would be fined for not having your shoes shined or your hair neat or a button open. So seeing 60's bands on TV like Sly and the Family Stone and the Abbey Road-era Beatles would totally freak him out!

part of what makes the homer off the head clip so great is that it happened to the Human Blooper himself, Jose Canseco. That type of thing happening to Canseco trumps everything else no matter how silly a play looks.
