Should be a good fight. Any thoughts?

1. I think age is a big factor. |
|
I do not think Morales is the fighter he used to be. He has absorbed a lot of punishment, and has shown the decline that should convince him to retire, were he objective. However, only a very few aging former champions are objective.
He has had trouble making weight in the past. The older you get, the harder that can be on an athlete.
Add to that the fact that Pacquiao is a strong, fast, very capable fighter, and I think that the most likely outcome is a replay of their second fight. I like them both a lot, and hate to see either guy lose. But I favor the younger warrior.

2. i watched the countdown on HBO... |
|
he looked really bad at the weigh in for the 2nd fight. they showed him recently, and apparently he is doing it smarter this time. still, cutting as much weight as he does has to take a toll, especially as he gets older. maybe he can capture the magic once more. there is no quit in the man.

You can never count that guy out. He may have one more great fight in him. Maybe more. But if he starts to look too old, against a guy who can really hurt an opponent, I hope his corner keeps him safe.
I really enjoyed the HBO report. They do a good job.

4. How much is left in Morales' tank? |
|
He ran out of gas in the second Pacquiao fight. If that happens on Saturday night, then it could get real ugly.

It seems unlikely to me that Morales can take Pacquiao out early. The longer the fight goes, it seems like Morales' chances decrease. In his prime, it would have been a very different story.

How many people here are going to purchase the fight?
I'm trying to cut back on PPV. The prices are outrageous. But a fight like this makes it hard!

Morales decked once in the second, and twice in the 3rd. He took the count, shaking his head when his corner told him to get up.
