Serious Question - Should the Lions have the Turkey bowl?

Even I, a lifelong Lions fan say NO. They don't deserve it. I know the history of it, the relationship the Fords have with the NFL, but at what point do we stop celebrating failure and mediocrity?
I look around the NFL and I see teams that have gone from bad to good, to bad to good, and back again, meanwhile the Lions have always been terrible. Not bad, but terrible. It is not fair to the Bears, the Patriots, the Broncos, the Chargers, the Ravens, etc, as these are just some of the teams that have come full circle.
It is a culture of losing in Detroit. It comes from the top down. Why should the Ford family be constantly rewarded and gain financially when the product they've been producing for years is sub-standard?

Yes, a rant from a diehard Lions fan, but it's all we have left...

1. Well at least you admit you're a Lions fan.
And the answer is no. But I don't think Dallas should be on every Thanksgiving either. The NFL really should rotate teams on Thanksgiving day games.

2. Agree
I love tradition and all that but they need to move the game around each year to various teams.... You can't take it away from sorry Detroit and leave it in Dallas.... You need to move it from both cities.

3. It's not a celebration, it's a tradition
one the people of Detroit cherish. You would even take this away, after all the years of lost jobs and other hard times?

I find that really cold, frankly.

4. Well, it's tradition. I don't need another game that day to glorify the Cowboys.
Pete Rozell told his old boss, Tex Schram, that he was going to give Dallas another national venue.

They usually play a high school-quality team.

Rotate who plays in the games.

5. Thanksgiving isn't the problem. Matt Millen is.
He destroyed your team and isn't really trying to right the ship anymore.

That said, on a slightly different tangent, I hope you're embarrassed by your fellow fans booing Joey Harrington.
