1. 5.5 yards per attempt
Rookies always get a benefit of a doubt in that regard but 5.5 is horrific. You can't win in that league without throwing the ball accurately and down the field, to the tune of 7+ yards per attempt.

People are overlooking one thing in regard to today's Giants game. New York was in one of the most disadvantageous scheduling situations imaginable. So bad that the league annually only puts 2 or 3 teams in that spot, playing a Monday night road game then traveling again the following week to face an unfamiliar non-division opponent.

In summary, I give the Titans much less credit than typical for pulling that game out. In that scheduling advantage they never should have fallen behind 21-0 to begin with. If Vince Young can't put up points for 3+ quarters against an injured defense that is playing in a terrible scheduling situation I'm not exactly ready to anoint him.

I won a bet on the Titans due to the scheduling situation but it felt like an undeserved profit. The Titans should be condemned for falling behind 21-0 in that spot. I honestly can't remember another game that played out that way in over a decade of betting that angle.

2. and look when the Giants tired out...
the 2nd half.

I think Vince will be a good QB---but there's a whole lot of ways before you can compare him to MJ---hell, he's still got a ways to catch up to Steve McNair.

8. To Add
In addition to what you said, even though the sports media is giving Young credit for this win, it was really the Giants and Eli Manning who threw the game away. If Manning had not been picked off in the fourth quarter the Giants would not have lost. So if the Giants had had a minorly better quarterback or Manning had played better the Titans would have been thrashed. People must also remember that beyond the late interception in the fourth quarter Manning was picked off one other time.

3. Well-I agree with you.
We have not seen his like before, and it has nothing to do with stats. He refuses to lose.

4. BINGO.
And that precisely is why this rookie is going to do nothing but become extraordinary.

5. LOL. Based on what? his performance against the Giants?
The Giants who were missing half their defensive starters?

The Giants who have scout teamers running in as subs?

A team that ultimately just quit?

I love my team but I was shocked that Young didn't have a bigger game against this motley crew.

Mr. Woderlic barely cracks 70 on QB rating. He would have to step it up two or three nothces just to be as good as the wildly inconsistent Michael Vick.

6. Interesting read from the NYT-they seem to share your opinion
about Vince based on his body language.

http://www.nytimes.com/2006/11/29/sports/football/29giants.html?hp&ex=1164776400&en=4abfc954b964a06f&ei=5094&partner=homepage

Asked what could save the Giants’ season and Coughlin’s job, Fiel responded like a true New York sports fan, trying to propose a trade.

“They need to get that other No. 10, that guy from Tennessee — Young,” she said. “He’s so joyous, so joyful. You can feel his joy just watching him. He has so much energy. He’s like a dancer. Maybe he can inspire the Giants.”

7. Dreaming
I think you are dreaming. Young has a long way to go before he gets anywhere near being the Micheal Jordan of the NFL. Unless you are saying that Young will become greatly overrated. I am not saying that Jordan is overrated, but others do believe he is overrated. Many point to the fact that Jordan never won a championship without Scottie Pippen and Pippen almost won a championship without Jordan. Some point out that if it had not been for a questionable foul late in a playoff game the year before Jordan made his first comeback Pippen and the Bulls would have won a championship without Jordan (greatly reducing the myth of Jordan). In addition, I think the Pippen lead Bulls won just as many or more games without Jordan than with Jordan and without Pippen.

Getting back to Young, he has a rather large number of people to get through in order to be the Jordan of the NFL. First among those people is Peyton Manning. I have a few doubts about whether he actually is the best quarterback in the league, but he is really good. Next, there is Tom Brady, who happens to have three Superbowl rings. Then there is Donovan McNabb, Drew Brees, Philip Rivers, Steve McNair, and maybe a few others. Finally, I did not even mention the retired quarterbacks like Joe Montana, who I believe has four Superbowl rings, and the other great quarterbacks of the past.

I am sorry, but I think you are wrong on Young. The NFL already has a few Jordans and Young will have to do a great deal to outperform them. I am not sure that will happen.

9. others do believe he is overrated?
WOW! Others believe the Michael Jordan is overrated? What--like 3 people in Cleveland?

Anyone who thinks that MJ is overrated is just not credible enough to talk sports. That's like saying George W. Bush is the best President in the history of the country.

10. I think Jordan was somewhat overrated
He was not the greatest basketball player ever. Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain, Oscar Robertson, Magic Johnson, all were guys who changed the way the game was played. Jordan just happened to come along when the media was exploding, he played in a big city which was starved for any type of sports championship, he played on one of the greatest college basketball teams ever, which also had James Worthy and Sam Perkins and he knew how to market himself. Jordan was a great player, but the best ever? No way. That is why I say he is overrated.

13. Can you say "Rookie of the Year"?
http://scoreboards.aol.com/football/nfl/game/48145/recap.aspx

Young, who drove the Titans 95 yards in 11 plays, put them ahead 17-14 with a 9-yard pass to Brandon Jones in the fourth quarter. He then set up Bironas for the longest field goal since Al Del Greco's 56-yarder against San Francisco on Oct. 27, 1996, by moving 33 yards in nine plays.

The rookie quarterback finished 12-of-25 for 163 yards, and scrambled nine times for 78 yards, his biggest day rushing this year.

Manning finished 21-for-28 for 351 yards and a 68-yard touchdown pass to Harrison, who had seven receptions for 172 yards.

Notes: The Titans last beat Indy 27-17 on Dec. 8, 2002. ... Young improved to 5-4 as a starter. He has scored at least one TD in each of his first nine starts. ...

33. This guy is a special athlete. It is, primarily to me, his leadership, will to win, and joy in the
game.

Oh, and dude has physical gifts too.

I'm hoping he can strike the "running QB" balance better than Vick and most others have.

He just seems different. Makes plays. Inspires teammates.

I was so impressed watching the Rose Bowl 2006, not just because of the runs Young made, but because of how incredibly poised the guy seemed against long, long odds... a salty (as salty as it gets in college) USC team that had already won 2 championships and had 2 Heisman winners, down 2 scores late. The guy was having a great time, and if he had a care in the world, he sure didn't show it. Meanwhile, I had an ulcer and I couldn't care less about the UT program. I became a huge fan right then.
