Eagles manhandle Cowboys, take lead in NFC East |
|
This one wasn't even close my friends. It was almost like the Cowboys were saying "Oh please, Eagles, win the division. We really don't want it!" To put it short, a landslide victory.

1. They looked like the Birds of old |

It was scary to watch them today. Dallas didn't even try very hard.

2. Hats off to Andy Reid for keeping that team together. |
|
They've been through a lot in the last two years (same for the Saints).

4. I sure do hope the Cowboys trade TO to the Giants |

Wouldn't that be sweet? Loved seeing the cowboy fans heading for the exits real early. 23-7 cause Andy killed the clock at the end.

I saw a lot of Cowboy fans disguised as empty seats. They're finding out Tony Romo doesn't have an S emblazoned on his chest.

If Tony Romo Had Played In Cleveland. . . |

. . .or Tampa, even with the same numbers, we'd have never heard of him. The sports media mafia still thinks the rest of the country cares about the Cowboy's. Seen any ratings of their national games? Lower than New England, Pittsburgh, Chicago, or either NY team. They are not the darlings the media would suggest. The Professor

I am a Cowboys fan-for the sake of full disclosure.
I haven't seen their national ratings but I have to agree that it is ridiculous that ESPN has TWO reporters who do nothing (it seems) but talk to "people inside the Cowboys organization" endlessly. At some point I would hope that you could narrow down who is talking unless it is Jerry Jones just wanting to keep his franchise name out there on a daily basis (the most likely scenario).
That being said-the logos with the highest sales in merchandise are the Cowboys and the Steelers thanks mostly to the "Steeler nation"
Back before the notoriously uncontrolled (from and accounting stand point) NFL offices realized how much money was flowing out the doors all sales of merchandise went to charities primarily the United Way. They used to promenantly mention that in each commercial, you don't hear that at all anymore because hardly any of it goes to charity anymore.
Keep that in mind when you see who is on the national game each week.

9. I wouldn't put it past Jerry Jones to try and keep |

his franchise out there in the media. He's a "check me out" type of guy.

But, with 30+ teams, one could lead the league, far and away with 5% of all sales. That hardly makes a team "America's Team", or a "Nation". And, at the very least, the Steelers just won a superbowl a year ago, so sales there are bound to be good. (That and they have black uniforms, and black jerseys have outsold color jerseys except during the 49'ers heyday.)
But, i buy your point that part of the national game decision making is based upon those revenues as well. The Professor
