The Gators are frauds and will get annihilated tonight.
They're simply one of the worst reps ever for an NC game.

They beat an unranked South Carolina team by 1 point..... The scraped by Vanderbilt, yes Vanderbilt by a touchdown.... They beat a mediocre Tennessee by 1 point.... They beat unranked Georgia by 1 TD....AND they beat the hapless Seminoles by just 1 TD.

Their one loss came at the hands of the two loss Auburn Tigers.

The only good team they beat this year was LSU.

1. I suppose you're one of the people who thought Michigan should be #2.
And who can argue with you, after their stunning performance in the Rose Bowl? :sarcasm:

3. Nope...hell...Boise deserved it as much as anyone...
Until there are playoffs which will probably be never, teams like Florida, especially the big named teams will always slip in.

2. Don't forget that Auburn didn't score an offensive TD in that game.
Sorry, but Florida's offense is too inconsistent to say "yes, it's a given they'll pull the upset". Tressel's a better big game coach. Troy Smith is, well, Troy Smith. I just don't think Florida has the overall talent that OSU possesses.

Can they draw inspiration from the 2002 Buckeyes (as in FU = 2002 OSU, upset winners over Miami)? Not really. Ken Dorsey is not even in the same league as Troy Smith, OSU is level-headed, field smart, experienced and prepared, not cocky like the Hurricanes were.

If OSU makes no defensive mistakes, they should win this one going away. If their defense performs as they did against Michigan, it will be close, but OSU should still win due to the Troy Smith factor, who seems to get better when he's cornered.

4. I disagree with you about Miami being Cocky in that game...
Number one: that team had more talent on it than probably any other team in college history. Six number ones...what 2 years in a row. They didn't need to be cocky... they were just that good.

Plus...you're diminishing your coaches great game plan against the Canes when you say the Canes were Cocky...They didn't lose because of cockiness...they lost because of Tressel and of course a phantom holding call. ;-)

BTW: You do know that that Dorsey was 38-2 in his college career...I know, I know...Troy has better talent... BUT 38-2 is something to behold.

Ya see... I MHO... OSU should absolutely look at the Miami game in 2002 and understand that shit can happen in college football. Everybody in the land felt that Miami would win that game just like everybody feels that OSU should Win tonight...Like I said... shit happens in College football... Just ask USC.

But with that said...I predict a OSU blowout.

21. Miami is ALWAYS cocky
I don't know what it is about that town, but they are good at producing cocky, arrogant thugs.

Though, I did mean to say "that team," not "that town."

What did I say that was racist? Which race was I racist against?

5. I like the Gators to win
Certainly, Ohio State deserves to be the favorite. During the course of the season they did record more convincing wins. However, Florida did go through the SEC with only 1 loss. The Big 10, while its top teams performed well, was very weak at the bottom. I think the likes of Vandy and Kentucky stack up well against OSU's wins versus Minnesota, Illinois, Northwestern.

I think you have to give a lot of credit to Chris Leak and Urban Meyer's performance this year. After realizing the system wasn't working with Leak as an option QB, they switched to a more traditional system this year. Tim Tebow will be a big asset on short yardage situations.

The way the time line works out, it's almost like this game is happening in another season. Florida's had over a month to prepare. I expect Meyer comes out with a solid gameplan.

I rest my hopes on the fact that the Gators defense will step up big. We have Reggie Nelson in the secondary, who is an all-American. The front 4 of Cohen, McDonald, Harvey, and Moss are superb. I can't help but wish we still had Marcus Thomas in there.

Florida will also have to rely on their skill receivers. The rushing game with Wynn and Moore has been inconsistent. But UF has a ton of skill receivers, like Percy Harvin, Caldwell, and Baker. I'd look for a lot of trickery with reverses, etc.

Guess I'll have to come back and eat crow if we get humiliated tonight, but I don't see that happening. I remember last year when nobody thought that Texas could hang with USC.

How can you post in a Gators thread and not show that picture of the Granny giving UF the finger. I like the Gators, but i have to say I found that pic mildly amusing. :)

7. Florida played the number one most difficult schedule in the country........
and only lost AT Auburn on a horrible call. They played 10 bowl teams that went 7-3 in the bowls. Ohio played something like 5 or 6 bowl teams that went something like 2-4 in the bowls.

Florida belongs just as much as Ohio did the year they played huge favorite Miami for the championship.

8. They lost to Auburn by 10
so that had to be one hell of a bad call. All teams lose on bad calls... I'm not saying that the Gators don't belong in the game...I'm just saying that aint all that.

10. It would be history if OSU beat an SEC team in a bowl game
Their record to date, eight games, eight losses.

I hope the Gators win by one and Boise St is voted number one.

Alabama put up a bigger fight against Florida than Ohio State did, even on probation and with the worst head coach in major college football.

28. Jinx had nothing to do with it. That was a sloberknocker of epoch....
proportions. Reminds me of '92 when Bammer knocked Miami's dick in the dirt to win The National Championship. UM.... big favorite. Big mouths and a big ass kicking by an SEC school.
