1. He was at
the Hall of Fame inductions ceremonies a couple of years back. At the fight card at the near-by Turning Stone Casino, he was hanging out with Shane Mosley. It was the night Shannon Briggs fought there. Anyhow, Corrales was one of the guys who went way out of his way to be friendly and decent to everybody. You could see how much he loved the sport, and I remember my friend saying that Diego would love the day he was inducted.

2. passionate guy
Fought hard! That was a constant. You always knew he was going to go out and lay it on the line. You can truly tell a difference between the guys who really love it and those who aren't as passionate. He was one of those guys you could just tell loved boxing, not only the competition, but the sport in general.

3. It's really sad.
He seemed like a very decent guy to me, from seeing him on tv, and watching how he was at the Hall of Fame.

4. What a great fighter
Unfortunately, his career as a top fighter likely ended last month when he got dominated by Joshua Clottey.

For a long time, he was one of the most exciting fighters in the game. He was quite a physical specimen early on, when at 6'0" he was able to make the 130 lb limit and dominate the likes of Angel Manfredy.

He was the type of warrior that makes boxing such a thrill to watch. You might be able to hurt Corrales, but he always got back up and was always a threat to win by KO at any time.
