Shuttle busses will be running from along Canal to the Super Dome. An anticipated 250 million bucks will be dumped on the Crescent City thanks to this "event." 600 million plus combined with the Sugar Bowl and the week in between.

Thanks Georgia, Hawaii and Ohio State Fans.

1. This is part of the reason a Division I playoff is so different from I-AA, etc.
In the Division 2 finals, there were something like 3000 people in the stands, and a lot of people drove to the game. Although I have emphatically stated I don't WANT a D-I playoff, part of the problem is logistics. This is the big time. A town generally needs to be able to provide 50,000 hotel rooms for these games. How do you set the venues? It's not fair, in a playoff system, to not provide home field advantage to the teams that have earned it, but if you do that, municipalities are going to be on the hook to provide enough food and services for a small city. Since the playoffs would coincide with the holidays, winter commencements, etc., this could be very disruptive and some towns wouldn't be able to accommodate it.

2. Hey thanks for checking in.
I feel like we have our own on-the-spot reporter.

Headed out for Collumbus in 30 minutes. Watching the game with my rabid Buckeye BIL. I should be there in time for the kickoff.

3. I wanted to go to NOLA so badly this weekend
but my Wife was sick as a Dog, I didn't think I could leave her. However, reports are that its similar to Mardi Gras crowd size wise.

6. Been there a few times for Sugar Bowls
Stayed at the Royal Senesta a few days for both the 88 and 89 games. That was back in the days when I was making decent money. Couldn't do it now. I would come home 10 pounds heavier and with a massive credit card bill, but it was worth it.
