Joe Ferguson battling Cancer
The 57 year old Ferguson, former Razorback QB, who played pro ball for the Buffalo Bills is in intensive care at a Houston Hospital with Leukemia. Ferguson also QB'd for Detroit, Tampa Bay and Indianapolis before retiring in 95 with the Texans at the age of 45. Joe Ferguson QB'd the Hogs in the early 70's when I was going to High School a couple blocks away. God Bless you Joe and thanks for the memories.

1. I'm remember seeing him play for the Bill's in the 70's, with OJ.
The beating that man took as QB for the bills was just incredible.

That's really young.

2. I remember him when he was with the Bills
He was a tough sonofagun as I recall. Seems to me he played with a broken ankle or something like that.

3. That sucks. I hope he can pull through, but that doesn't sound good.
My favorite Bills team was the one from 1981 with him as the QB and they had Joe Cribbs, Jerry Butler, Fred Smerlas, Roosevelt Leaks. Very underrated team relative to the more famous Bills' eras. That AFC wildcard game vs. the Jets at Shea was a classic. His last season was in 1990 on Indy's roster, not '95, by the way.

4. Dan Marinos first game as a rookie
was a shootout with Joe with Joe coming out on top. I was at that game in the Orange Bowl.
