Rudy T. TO Quit Lakers
according to ESPN. Partially health related (but not a recurrence of bladder cancer), partially dissatisfaction with the team. Could "Crazy 8" Kobe Bryant have pissed someone else off so much he'd leave?

1. He's being replaced by Bryan Ferry.

4. I wonder if Bryan can coach hoops.
Actually, I hear that BF was quite a good footballer in his youth. I believe he was a goalkeeper.

2. What else could "dissatisfaction with the team" mean?
Seriously, he's only been there a half a season.

5. The Lakers are doomed...
...so long as they don't bust that punk Bryant across the nose with a newspaper until he learns to play well with others.

7. I once
saw Kobe in Minnesota and my opinion of him was "I could get open if you let me dribble for 20 seconds". He is a ballhog and anyone who have ever played much Bball knows what a drag it is to play with someone like him

Rudy T will defininitely be stepping down and the reason is, indeed, Kobe Bryant.

ETA: Forgot to say that Lakers sources are saying they want Phil Jackson to return! Ha! How the worm has turned.

12. Crazy 8 - best nickname I've heard
I still don't get why Buss is so much in love with Kobe. He's basically forced out the most dominating player in the game, the most successful coach in recent years, and other productive players just to please one primadonna. IMO, they would have been much better off with Shaq, Phil, Malone, etc.

13. Rudy's a great coach and a great guy
He signed a five-year contract.

That he's jumping off after half a season suggests something seriously is wrong, either with his health or with that organization (or maybe both).
