The Magic never had a Chaunce |
|
Chaunceyless Pistons go up 3 games to 1.
Magic were up by 15 at one point.

1. That was my favorite playoff game EVER! |

It was especially satisfying after hearing the ESPN commentators begin the pre-game by saying, "No Chauncey - no chance!", then being treated to pictures of Dwight Howard in a Superman cape, and finally watching a player head butt Rasheed and pretend he should have been fouled.
Very precious post-game coverage, I noticed.
Chauncey looked engaged from the floor - it was obvious how much he cared. What a gritty, never-give-up performance. It puts the ESPN announcers in a quandary when their anointed stars can't pull it out (no field goals for Superman after the first PERIOD?), but that's not my problem.
OTOH, huge snaps to ESPN announcer Doris Burke. It was a treat to hear a woman announcer, PLUS, whatever her feelings are, she managed to sound completely neutral and just calmly announce for both teams. I don't know who she is, but I intend to make my feelings on her professionalism known to ESPN. I had decided that was a little over the top, until yesterday, when Steven A. Smith announced that everyone in the NBA wanted a Lakers-Celtics final, including him! Hey!
