Derby announcer Kruytbosch found dead in Indiana home

LOUISVILLE (AP) — Luke Kruytbosch, the track announcer for the Kentucky Derby for the last 10 years, was found dead Monday at his home in southern Indiana. He was 47.

Vanderburgh County, Ind., coroner Don Erk said Kruytbosch was found by friends in his Evansville apartment, and appears to have died of cardiac-related natural causes.

The coroner said Kruytbosch's friends said the announcer had not felt well and had been to a doctor recently.

I can't say I recognize the name but I'm sure I'd connect with the voice.

From that picture in the article it looks like he was heavy, which could have contributed to heart trouble. In the article it seems to verify he was overweight, by the word they chose, "He was a gregarious person..."
