Will the Rays be in the playoffs? Is so, as DC or WC? |

1. I think they'll make the playoffs |
|
The loss of Crawford and Longoria will hurt, and they have a tough schedule remaining. I wouldn't be surprised if they won the division, but their pitching is solid enough they should at least take the wild card. As a Red Sox fan, though, and having watched many of their games in the last 10 years (when they were awful), maybe I'm underestimating their ability to win the division a little.

2. The Rays will probably win the division. |
|
Crawford is out for the season but Longoria will be back by September 1st. Crawford hasn't been all that at the plate this year so his loss isn't that big a deal when compared to Boston losing Manny and Big Poppy.
The Yankees are out of it. Their pitching has collapsed and they're too far back right now to make the playoffs as a wild card.

3. I don't see why they can't win the division outright. |
|
The Sox have issues on the mound (we'll see if Byrd can step in and help), or at least more issues than the Rays. The Rays pitching has been great all year. I see no reason for it to start sucking as bad as they would have to in order to miss the playoffs altogether. I say a division win.

4. In a word, no. Longoria is a killa for them. And where's Kazmir's fastball? |
