Johnny Damon billboards in NYC? Say it ain't so!

My colleague, who's from Boston and (obviously) a DIEHARD Red Sox fan, told me this morning that there are billboards all around Yankee Territory with Johnny Damon hawking Nikes. She told me this KNOWING I'm a major Yanks fan!

Is it true? Has The Wolfman been seen in Times Square? How many complaints have been filed, LOL? ;)

1. in the Boerum Hill/Carroll Gardens section of Brooklyn

I live in the Bronx, but not near the stadium so I can't comment on billboards.

I do know however that people have been spray painting a relief of Johnny Damon on lamposts in Brooklyn. there was an article in one of the dailies about it recently. I'll see if I can't find it.
