1. Not a chance
the Pirates have had 16 consecutive losing seasons, the last 4 of which have featured 67,67,68, and 67 wins...I do believe I detect a pattern.. of failure.

3. They might as well
and he is available...maybe it would boost attendance at PNC Park, as they're not exactly turning them away at the gate.

11. We just can't "bring in the right players"
Like its a fucking catalog like your team does.

We have to develop them.

12. We've been devolping them for a while...
...that's the reason for our success...and why teams like the skankees have fallen behind.

13. Unless Ian Snell can pitch 162 times, then probably not.

14. No
I'd like to see them finish second in the N.L. Central, behind my Cubs, but the Pirates? C'mon. And that's a shame because they have a GREAT tradition. First World Series ever in 1903, Clemente, Mazeroski, Stargell, and so on. But in today's baseball world, the Pirates, Royals, Reds, etc. stand little chance. And while I want my Cubs to win it all, it would still be cool to see some "low budget" team win the WS. After the Cubs of course.

15. They most certainly should be able to,
Paul Maholm and Ian Snell can be 2 quality starters. Tom Gorzellaney and Zach Duke come back to somewhat the forms they had a couple of years ago. I think they can, especially now with Joe Kerrigan as pitching coach.

They have a couple of good young risers in Nate McLouth and Ryan Doumit. They're also pretty solid up the middle in Jack Wilson and Freddy Sanchez. The Larouch brothers are the ones that need to step up.
