More proof that the NBA is a joke. |

I don't know if any of you out there are following the Celtics/Bulls series, but in game 5 of the series, which has been a good series thus far, Rondo commited an obvious flagrant foul against Brad Miller with two seconds to go and was not called for it. The logic was that games shouldn't end like that. I say that is bullshit. Rules are rules and should be enforced no matter what. It is bad enough when Bryant, James, Wade, etc. rarely get called for travelling and if anyone so much as lays a finger on them, it is a foul. But when a guy hits another guy in the head, going nowhere the ball, and draws blood, that is a flagrant foul and it shouldn't matter how much time is left in the game and it shouldn't matter who the person commiting the foul is. It needs to be called. It almost looks like the league wants the Celtics to advance. I will be watching game six very carefully to see if and when the Bulls get called for any "hard" fouls.

1. Yes, it's that way all right. |

Take it from a Pistons' fan.

I quit watching almost all NBA several years ago because of the so-called refereeing. Perhaps like NASCAR enough fans are OK with this manipulation. Star power?

4. Ever since the 2002 Western Conference Finals |

Lakers/Kings...I've had trouble taking the NBA seriously. Tim Donaghy alleged in court that game 6 was fixed...but anybody who watched it really didn't need any confirmation.

5. Well, the Fakers, oops sorry, Lakers, have become the premier team |
|
in being able to get any and all calls to go their way.
Yes, I was hoping that the Kings (the better team) would kick the Fakers asses, but alas, the Natinal Laker League wouldn't let it happen.

6. I can't watch the NBA anymore because the officiating is easily the worst of all the sports. |
|
I remember when they actually called traveling. Something like 20 years ago. :)
Even as a Celtics fan, I totally agree that if it was a foul it should have been called (I didn't see it...too much hockey). Inconsistency in officiating sucks, and thankfully the NHL has addressed that problem very effectively. Until the NBA follows suit and makes their officials accountable I can't get into it. I don't blame you for being aggravated.

7. It should have been called, but the refs have been in the tank for the Bulls |
|
mainly thus far, so it seems sort of justified.

8. You can't get in the way of those run and gun dunk-a-thons. |

You're right, it can't be taken very seriously.

9. that was a horrible call |
|
It definitely should have been a flagrant foul.
As someone else said, the NBA has the worst officiating of the major sports. I still enjoy watching when the playoffs come around though :)
