I like the idea of interleague play, but come oooon.....who picked these matchups? No geographic proximity, no great history between the teams etc.....
Cincinnati Reds at Toronto Blue Jays (June 23-25) Los Angeles Dodgers at Chicago White Sox (June 23-25) Arizona Diamondbacks at Kansas City Royals (June 16-18) Tampa Bay Rays at Colorado Rockies (June 16-18) Colorado Rockies at Detroit Tigers (May 22-24)

4. Interleague play really should be dropped entirely |
|
A few teams having regionally relevant rivalries and/or World Series rematches does not justify adding dozens of games that force teams to play competitively unbalanced schedules and play games that don't use league rules to affect league standings.

"All you do is whine and complain about the Yankees." That is not true.
I have too many years invested in baseball. It does no good to bitch about something I can't control. I enjoy baseball whether "my team" wins or loses. I prefer winning, of course. But I don't cry if we lose. God, I've been through many more bad seasons than good ones.

6. I believe they have some "fixed" interleague games (e.g. Reds-Indians, Sox-Cubs) |
|
but I believe they rotate divisions by the year.

I'd rather see the Sox play the Yankees or Angels every weekend than any NL team. It's a novelty thing to see them play the Mets or whoever, but there's no intensity at all for the most part. It get's a big MEH from me.
Though to be fair to baseball, as long as the Stanley Cup finals are in progress every sport feels pretty bland to me.
