Just called the NHL with my complaint about the scheduling!
Not that they care. I just politely told them that I was a Detroit fan, that Detroit had earned home-ice advantage, which they took away from them with the shortened break, and the three games in four days schedule, and I also politely told them that it was an open secret that the league wanted Crosby to win a cup, but that it wasn't being fair to Detroit. Then I said, "that's my comment!" and the guy said, "Okay!"

Their number was very hard to find - it's not on their website, and their site also doesn't allow emails with subject lines that they haven't chosen, but I did find it and here it is: (212) 789-2000.

I don't expect anyone else to call them, but it did feel good to let them know how I felt. And I was very, very polite.

2. I know, I had to share.
Seriously, they make it really difficult to find them. Detroit's one of their best, most profitable markets. What do they have to gain, ultimately, by pissing off their fans (other than getting a Cup for their wunderkind)?

9. Yes, like all the original Six, Detroit has a very large fanbase. nt

4. Not really, because I was complaining before the series started.
As were most of the Detroit media.

Tell me they would do this to the Lakers!

5. Did you fire off your letter when Detroit was leading 2-0, or
did you wait until Pittsburgh tied it up?

I don't recall a passive-aggressive ("I don't expect anyone else...") rallying the troops thread before the series!

And since I don't want Pittsburgh to win per se, I don't feel this is a pick on Detroit post .. but yea, I really think this is a crying thread. Seems to me the Red Wings are good enough to overcome any purported obstacle!

Come on! Suck it up. You're going home!!!

6. Actually, yes, I emailed NBC about it (some of this is for television purposes)
BEFORE the series started. No response of course (though I did tell them they had a pee wee network, so maybe that's why).

We also don't have our best player, but you don't see the media playing that up, either. If the Pens had lost without Crosby, all the headlines would by "Crosby-less Pens Lose to Healthy Wings" or some such nonsense!

7. You know what's odd
you had complaints and excuses during the Anaheim series as well, yet had nothing to say during the series against Columbus and Chicago. Are you sure there's really an issue here or does this have more to do with how the Red Wings are fairing?

BTW..the NHL did not take home ice "away"...if and when there's a 7th game it will be played in Detroit.
