Can't keep up with all this "reform".
Like rats thru a maze. They get called out for high violence, high weaponry, low test scores.
So basically... shhhhhhhhhhhh... they alter the stats to make things look good. (Can you blame them? Would a sane person expect them to do otherwise? Duh.)
They get the "stick" in this system ( NYC) ; I'm not clear about the "carrot."
Now the general public that believes the stats and believe in the ed "reform" movement: that's more Pavlovian.

2. More likely, they get lack-of-merit raises. |

3. The admins get $1,500 "step" each year (if there's money). |
|
And they get the COLA increase if the teachers get one. Until they hit the top of their scale, then it's just COLA.

4. I think that's the rule nationwide |
|
But if the Eli Broad Academy "graduates" have their way, ALL staff will be subject to "merit" pay instead of "step" pay.
