I am in a shitty mood you guys, so can i tell you a funny story from the protests in NYC

this weekend? (ENTIRE POST ADDRESSED ONLY TO LGBT DU'ers and their strong allies)

Just so everyone knows, NOM (national org of marriage) had arranged and anti-equal marriage protest outside Gov Patterson's office on Sunday afternoon. Several churches in the Bronx literally bussed people in to Midtown Manhattan for this protest. Now, the gay community was stretched really thin that day. We had aids walk in the morning and our real counter protest ACTION = EQUALITY later in the evening. So only a few of us decided to do a counter protest thanking governor patterson, against the NOM group.

So there were maybe 50 of us and 5000 of them. After having many bibles shoved in my face and a few mutterings of AIDS and Hell, i was getting pretty cranky.

So finally a woman comes up to me and she states "jesus loves you" and i state "of course he does, would he have made me so pretty if he didn't?"

It was really the comedic moment we all needed.

5. "Jesus loves you" isn't some benevolent blessing -- but we already know that.

Nothing says passive-aggressive like: Jesus loves you (now conform to my belief system because you make me uncomfortable and I'm not smart enough to figure all this out for myself).
