CA Conservatives Sue State Even Though Anti-Gay Ballot Measure Approved
http://www.365gay.com/newscon05/07/072705CalAmend.htm

The conservative group behind a proposed amendment to bar gays from marrying is preparing to sue Attorney General Bill Lockyer over the measure - even though Lockyer approved the petition.

But VoteYesMarriage is furious at the title and and wording Lockyer's office is using in the summary of the initiative and it's going to court to have the wording changed.

The Attorney General has given the measure the title: "Marriage. Elimination of Domestic Partnership Rights." VoteYesMarriage called for the question to be titled: "The Voters' Right to Protect Marriage Initiative."

Lockyer's doing something right for a change. Maybe he will get my vote for dogcatcher after all

2. Trying to reframe as a rights issue.
It's the right of people to marry versus the "right" of people to keep other people from getting married.

Whatever.
