Radical right goes after starbucks.
Edited on Wed Aug-10-05 05:00 PM by RedXIII
i just read from one of the enemies sites that they're going after starbucks. Snip/The financial and political support of the homosexual agenda by Starbucks, the nation’s leading coffee bar chain, has some “frothing.” The company crossed the line for one customer when it funded “Pride” events in San Diego, California that included activities for children and known sex offenders on its volunteer staff. The coffee company crossed the line for yet another customer when it placed a quote promoting homosexual activity on the back side of her coffee cup. Bob Knight, director of CWA’s Culture & Family Institute joins Megan Kleppinger, assistant to the national field director, on this topic./ Snip

please email starbucks are phone them to tell them to stand up against the radical right agenda.

1. go get 'em
"go after" Starbucks - riiiigght. I had an old high school friend tell me he was boycotting Disney, because they let gay people march in their parades, and children might see them.

I bet Disney was REALLY hurting when he refused to buy The Little Mermaid on VHS.

So yeah - let them go after Starbucks. I bet all the barristas are terrified.

15. Welcome to DU, kahleefornia!
:hi:

I hope for your friend's sake, he stopped going to Disneyland. He must get pretty offended by 'Gay Days.' I get tired of hearing people grumble about it when it happens each year--:eyes:.

2. "a quote promoting homosexual activity on the back side of her coffee cup.
Now, I've been around the block a few times, but I still can't imagine exactly what kind of "homosexual activity" one could engage in on the back side of a coffee cup.

Unless that coffee cup is the size of a sofa.

5. I've gotta give them credit for calling it, "The Gay Bean Theory."
Even hateful ignorant bigots can be worth a giggle once in a while.

Unfortunately, that also gives them a "hook" to get people to read their bullshit.

Imagine getting an email with the phrase, "The Gay Bean Theory" in the subject line.

I hate these people.

10. Starbucks: 100% Democrat company that sells Equal Exchange Coffee
Edited on Wed Aug-10-05 05:43 PM by IanDB1
Starbucks Corporation
Rating: Dark Blue - 100 %
BuyBlue.org's Position:

Starbucks currently has a 100% BuyBlue rating due to its executives' political contributions for the 2003-2004 election cycle. During that election cycle, every Starbucks executive whose contributions we researched on the Federal Elections Commission site contributed to a Democratic candidate.

to me it's overpriced and weak.

17. That's fine...
I just don't go into a Starbucks and order an overpriced latte when I know it's going to taste weak to me.

If I'm making coffee myself I'm not so worried about it.

8. So CWA is Concerned Women for America. Can anyone explain:
Why a man is the director of the Culture and Family Institute at a Women's organization?

Aren't there any women out there concerned enough to take this position? Or is CWA so far to the right that they won't let women join since it takes them away from their kitchens and children?

12. Why is the head of CWFA a man? See 1 Timothy 2:11-12
"Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence."

Paul forbids women to teach or "to usurp authority over" men. Rather they are to "learn from men in silence with all subjection to men."

9. My email to Stabucks
I just wanted to offer you some words of encouragement, because I know you will continue to do the right thing and stand-up against the right-wing bigots at Concerned Wenches for America. Let them do what they want with their money. As for me, I'll keep buying your Equal Exchange coffee, and keep going to Starbucks and to other stores listed at BuyBlue.org Thank you for all that you do! Don't let them scare you!

16. Wait -- did they just say "sex offenders"?
Seems to me, most of the "sex offenders" are in Concerned Whores for Amerikkka's core group of scary christian robots.

Linking being gay with being a "sex offender" is the oldest stereotype ever. Why do they keep recycling these things?

Because I also think we need to pepper their little email network with a burning question about why they aren't boycotting the Catholic Church for harboring and enabling pedophiles?

Let's give the CWA a little piece of our minds. If there is one thing I can't stand, it's hypocrisy.
