I know there are "Log Cabin Republicans"...
but is there any single recognized *democratic* GLBT organization? I don't count groups like the HRC, GLAAD or GLSEN because they're multipurpose groups that work outside of political party lines.

1. I think that LCRs exist
simply b/c it's so . . . bizarre in the right wing community. They're voting against their own interests, kinda like roaches showing support for Raid. Does there need to be a definitive group in the Dems ?

3. Thank you.
But now that I think about it, I've only heard of the Stonewall Democrats once or twice; I worry that we as a community need a much stronger support group within the democratic party if we are to get our voices heard.

4. I know a few Log Cabin Republicans ...
... They are rich gay men who like low taxes and aren't interested in marriage.

Creepy, but not really paradoxical.

5. Yes, they have enough money that they don't have to worry
About health insurance for their partner, sponsoring their partner for immigration, tax benefits of marrige, next-of-kin status... and they don't care about those who can't afford it.

6. let's see what happens
when one of them dies or is devastated by an illness, and they find that all the contracts they drew up and all the legal protections they claim we already have vanish with the stroke of:

1. a voting pen from the GOP "rovefaghate" machine as it gears up for 2006, drawing out the values voters once again.
2. a decision made by The "wrong" nominee for the SCOTUS (you know, like the guy they are running now).

and when their kids are taken away because the Lawrence vs TX decison is overturned.

don't these folks realize that GAY AND GOP don't mix? I mean, any party that uses civil rights as wedge issue (which the Southern dems did many decades ago before they all SWITCHED TO THE GOP)while war, economic upheaval, and astronomical gas prices loom so heavily, IS NOT GOING TO CHANGE THEIR SPOTS. These asshats can wish for a "smaller gov't and lower taxes" all they want, but OH! How naive they are to think they'll be able to spearhead a grassroots social "liberalization" of the GOP.

We have NO CONTROL.

"FREE REPUBLIC" INDEED.

Think I am paranoid? Think again. We can't even get localities to decide that it ISN'T OK TO BEAT UP ON INNOCENT PEOPLE.
