A status message on facebook about lent from a friend of mine: |
|
"Dear fellow Christians: This Lent, how about giving up prejudice? Stand up against church-supported homophobia this holy season."
He was catholic, till he came out.

Sorry, but the brilliant point of this remark eludes me. Please help me understand.
(And I am standing up against church-supported homophobia; of course.)

13. Oww, that explains a lot. |
|
But as a Calvinist, I rather believe in giving things up altogether. Either use in modesty or not at all, that's the idea.
Thanks for the explanation, though. Much appreciated.

16. Lent should be called the Annual Hypocrisy Celebration. |
|
1. Get drunk, act a fool, puke your guts up
2. While still not sober yet, go have a priest put a cigarette out on your forehead
3. Stop eating M&Ms for 40 days
4. Hide some eggs. Find them.
5. Wear new clothes to church.
6. Keep your same homophobic dogma throughout.
