Evangelical Christian divorce rates top the charts

http://www.divorce-lawyer-source.com/news/high-christian-divorce-rates.html

Are christian families falling apart due to gay marriage laws.
Does this mean christian guys are leaving their women for their bowling buddies?
It would seem a logical deduction after their constant claims that gay marriage would destroy the countries families.
Are atheists immune because they have no morals and therefor cannot be corrupted by gay marriage?

2. It's because the old model of fundie marriage
is unsustainable in the modern era. It might have been viable during the Ward and June Cleaver period, but the "man as master and woman as slave" thing isn't even selling to fundie women anymore.

3. The explanation of right wingers at those links to explain the findings away are grasping at straws
One of those right wingers insists "those aren't christian divorces, they just claim they're born again Christians even though they never made a commitment to god", I mean really?

What's even more ironic is that it was religion, and the powerful (back then) Catholic church that were strongest voices against divorce, citing passages in the bible calling it sinful, and yet it's conservative Christians having the most divorces. The reason the churches gave up the war on divorce is because it was a lost battle, culture was moving away from the church on the divorce issue, and people were leaving the church and starting their own that were just fine with divorces (like England), so they were forced to adapt.

One day the churches will be forced to adapt to the changing culture on gay rights/marriage to, or risk the same fallout to their own churches.
