Thomas Dekker Open to Dating Men

In Cinema Verite, Thomas Dekker plays Lance Loud, television’s first gay icon. The 23-year-old actor tells Out magazine that while this isn’t a case of life imitating art, unlike most actors who dodge gay rumors, Dekker says he’s not opposed to the idea of being with a man.

“I’ve only really had relationships with women, but I’m certainly not closed to it. If there are possibilities of being able to do anything in life, why would you say you would never take any up? In the later chunk of my teen years I was so all over the place with sex. It was terrible. I never really had a real relationship at all. During puberty, it’s all about sex, and it’s all about figuring yourself out. I think I overdid it when I was younger.”

3. They say

he left Heroes because his character was gay and he (or his agent) was worried how it would reflect on his career. If that's true, his good (and I mean GOOD) looks form a nice apology. He's also playing a gay role in his latest film, so maybe the Heroes thing was a rumor.

5. Weirdness. Very, very strange. Something put me in mind...

this morning .... of the Loud family documentary... and a particular scene - pretty obscure - in which Lance's mom, Pat, and dad, Bill, are eating dinner in a restaurant and comparing child-raising philosophies.

I did like that series a lot but it's almost 40 years old and I hadn't thought about it for a long while.

And who's that standing w. arms folded in the pic behind Dekker?

Again.... mighty strange.

I wanna see the movie. Someone w. hbo better invite me over.

7. That documentary that was done on Lance Loud

a few years back was incredibly moving. At the end, after he died, they showed grainy old silent footage of him riding his bike as a teenager through a sunny Santa Barbara neighborhood circa 1970. Not a care in the world.
