Wingnut Loses Mind Over Rainbow Flag

Ooh, here's a story that is absolutely destined to drive the wingnuts crazy. It's got two of their favorite boogeymen working together in a grand conspiracy. The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond actually hung a rainbow flag on its flagpole beneath the American flag and sent one religious right legislator in Virginia into a conniption, along with the Worldnutdaily of course.

"Dear President Lacker," wrote state Delegate Bob Marshall, "Flying the homosexual flag just under the American flag outside Richmond's Federal Reserve Bank building is a serious deficiency of judgment by your organization."

You might remember Bob Marshall as the first class jerk who argued last year that God gives handicapped babies as punishment to women who've had abortions. I wonder what Sarah Palin thinks of that theory.

"The Richmond Fed's endorsement of costly, anti-social, immoral behavior is rejected by 6,000 years of Western religious and moral teaching. You want the American people to trust your judgment in economic matters when your spokesperson celebrates an attack on public morals? Why?" Marshall continued...
But Marshall said, "This is a celebration of a behavior that is still a class six felony in Virginia."

Sorry, that's false. Laws outlawing gay sex were overturned 8 years ago. That law no longer exists. Too bad that can't be said of those who advocate such barbarism and bigotry.

3. Why do the flags look so waxy (plastic)?
Are they waterproofed for some reason? It isn't the combo that struck me, but both flags just look strange. I've seen flags made of nylon, but these are very strange-looking.

4. Remind them that God CREATED rainbows!
That usually causes a temple vein to visibly throb in these people.

6. My understanding is
the law still exists on paper, you could be arrested, even convicted for it in Virginia, but obviously eventually you'd get it overturned at some point in the appellate process.

7. Unless the state removes the law, then it is still illegal there. It would get overturned
and likely not be brought to trial even. But, you could be arrested for it and charged.
