http://www.365gay.com/Newscon05/11/112205Indy.htmNew life has been breathed into a proposed law banning discrimination against members of the LGBT community in Indianapolis - and this time supporters believe they'll have the votes to pass it.
The measure, which would amend the city's Human Rights Ordinance to include sexual orientation or gender identity in the areas of employment, education, public accommodations, and housing, was rejected by city council in April. (story)
The proposed ordinance failed on an 18 - 11 vote after the conservative group Advance America launched an e-mail campaign encouraging its members to write the 29 council members.
Since then the ordinance's sponsor, Jackie Nytes, a Democrat, has been gathering support. Monday she reintroduced the measure.
