Iowa School Board Bans Gay Book From Classrooms

Pleasant Valley, Iowa is a little less pleasant today for gay and lesbian parents and their children.

The local school board has told teachers they may not read to their classes a book with a gay character.

The 4-3 vote, however, allows the book, The Misfits, to be kept in school libraries, but out of the hands of small children.

There are gay characters and it was written b/c of a gay man.

Then again if they actually READ the Bible...

Because certainly, having ACTUAL gay people picking their kids up and being classroom volunteers and baking cookies for snacktime is FAR WORSE than a book about some imaginary gay people.
