http://www.365gay.com/Newscon06/02/022306williams.htmIn 2001philanthropist Charles R. Williams gave the University of California Los Angeles Law School a gift of $2.5 million to create a center to study the effects of the law on gays and lesbians.
The Williams Project, as it was known was run by a part time employee with an annual budget of $100,000.
Since then Williams has continued giving, and over the past years he has contributed $10 million dollars to the project - believed to be the biggest endowment given by a single donor to an LGBT university project in the nation.
On Friday the Williams Project will be renamed the Williams Institute. It will have 10 full-time employees and an annual budget of over $1 million.
