Check out Dodge City, Kansas!!!
Two articles, one the Dodge City paper (registration required) one Hutchison, Kansas. The Patriot Guard was there but the Kansas Equality Coaliton of SW Kansas was there too.

http://www.hutchnews.com/news/regional/stories/davila030506.html

"Members of the Westboro Baptist Church, which contends that God is punishing a nation that tolerates homosexuality by allowing American soldiers to die in Iraq, stood across North 14th Avenue from the cathedral. They waved signs bearing anti-homosexual slogans and flew upside-down U.S. flags Ñ one of which appeared partially burnt Ñ as a sign of protest.

A smaller group of counter-demonstrators wearing large pairs of angels’ wings Ñ designed to counter the Westboro group’s message of intolerance with one of love Ñ stood a short distance away from the picketers.

The tension outside did not spill over into the church, where a somber group of mourners gathered for the funeral."

From Hutchison News

"Meanwhile, a handful of demonstrators from yet another group, the Kansas Equality Coalition, which calls for the end of discrimination against homosexuals, demonstrated about 100 yards down from the Westboro group."

:bounce:I realize this is just Kansas and just a few people but this is in deep RED country and is a first for our state.:bounce: We are making a difference.

I am stunned that it has slipped so far over the edge, I should have been paying attention before but I was not.

We are doing our best. http://www.kansasequalitycoalition.org/

Edit to say thanks, that was really nice of you to say that.

4. We have just begun!
Aren't they adorable? It takes some guts to get out there in that part of the state, at least I would assume so.
