Anti-Gay Bullying Denounced In Christmas Sermon
http://www.365gay.com/newscon04/12/122604ukBully.htm

An Anglican cleric forced to withdraw his name from an appointment to bishop because he is gay used his Christmas sermon to accuse the Church of failing to stand up to bullies.

Dr. Jeffrey John, last year, was named bishop of the British town of Reading. After church conservatives threatened a schism he withdrew his candidacy. (story) Later the American branch of Anglicanism elected a gay priest to become bishop of New Hampshire, a move that continues to anger conservatives.

John has since been elevated to Dean of St Albans one of the most influential posts in the Church of England.
