Cowed Mary finally speaks
FOR SIX LONG years, Mary Cheney backpedaled from speaking out against Republican attempts to write her out of the Constitution, yet emerged from the musty closet just in time to peddle her new book, which hits stores this week.

Cowed Mary now wants to be Proud Mary, but it’s too late, for she has already sold us down the river.

From the comfortable confines of the V.P. mansion, Mary watched countless times as gay Americans get bashed. Yet, she remained a veritable Pet Rock until she received a $1 million advance to pry open her mouth.

Cheney launched a major public relations blitz for "Now It’s My Turn: A Daughter’s Chronicle of Political Life," but instead of sympathy, she deserves contempt for meekly attempting to justify her silence. She and her family had a unique opportunity to use the bully pulpit to educate Americans, and they failed miserably.

1. You mean, she said "Moo"?
I'll check the gay sites and see what people have to say. I don't think she's well liked in the GLBT community.

So, in other words, I don't care about her turn. Not when she's depriving us of ours and how the hell does she get off whining about Kerry? She was already out! (if she wasn't before Kerry made his comment, then Kerry has something to answer for...)

3. Mary was working as a gay coordinator for Coors in 2000
to sell gays on drinking Coors. Dick Cheney bragged about her sexual orientation in 2000.

The bitch sold out her gay compatriots,in 2004.

4. Thanks for the edification!
She is indeed a cow. How dare she attack Kerry...

The B-word being too kind an epithet, BTW.

6. Indeed!
Let's not forget WHY her job at Coors ("liason to the gay community") was even CREATED--because the GLBT community organized a highly successful boycott against Coors in response to the Coors family's rabid homophobia. Once they realized that showing their bigotry so openly was bad for business, they hired a snake like her to smooth things over. And nothing has changed--the Coors family continues to run candidates on antigay platforms.

In other words, Mary Cheney's ENTIRE LIFE'S WORK has been to aid and abet enemies of the GLBT community. She should rot in hell.

9. SOME Coors' family members may be antigay - DEFINITELY not ALL.
Please don't paint with a brush that broad, thanks.

11. Well, the ones who AREN'T ought to SPEAK UP.
Edited on Tue May-16-06 01:45 PM by Harvey Korman
Last time I looked, their more visible political forays have been largely right wing and homophobic (including Joe, who created the Heritage Foundation for chrissakes, and Pete, their latest windbag offering). I'm sure there are exceptions within the family--didn't mean to offend those people.

12. No problem - peace.
From what I know, there are openly gay family members who are very pro-gay (dem or puke, I have no idea), so I always speak up whenever the family as a whole is being "dissed". :) :hi:

15. Peace? The LGBT community can't bring that about.
As long as the percentage of the population that identifies as LGBT remains a minority voice (and that's likely to stay consistent FOREVER), peace will not be brought about by that community.

In our representative democracy, it will be the majority that must decide to wage peace. And that means ultimately it will be the responsibility of the heterosexual community to bring equality to all Americans, regardless of sexual orientation.

So no, do not ask US for peace. Ask your neighbors, your congresscritters, your President, and everyone else to stop fighting against the gay community's struggle for equality. Ask THEM for peace.

We can't bring it around without sacrificing our human dignity. And we're not going to do that anymore.

I was saying "peace" to Harvey Korman, i.e., "no problem", "fuhgeddaboutit."

I'm gay, and totally agree with you.

And frankly, I'm sick of the dem **** about triangulating away the interests of one of its most loyal constituencies for the sake of votes.

I was serious in the other thread about reducing my stumping activities for dems in response, and I've begun doing that. Howard Dean has made too many "mistakes" as far as I'm concerned.

I guess I'll come around when dems decide to go out on a limb for us rather than play into christian fundie bull****.

2. Mary wasn't there when it counted in 2004
But yet she solicited gays in 2000 on behalf of the GOP. She applauds a party who scathingly and hatefully is going after gays.

She's a political slut and whore but if it makes good book sales, oh well.

7. And what does she finally have to say?
A BUNCH OF CRAP!

Here's a suggestion, Traitor Mary Cheney, take your stupid pointless book and shove it up your ass sideways as far as it'll go. Call us if you need assistance with this task.
