I missed my Atlantis cruise to Alaska last summer due to a quad bypass(Yes I'm fine) The mr is ready to take a "make up" vacation. Neither of us has ever been, so any suggestions are appreciated.

we rent a room from a listing in the NYT, instead of staying in a hotel. Costs about 500 for the whole week and you get to play poolside Bingo with the older ladies around 2pm.

On the west coast. Small, secluded, great bar, on the beach, cheap.
