I'm on Boston College's GLBT/Q Leadership Counsel and that thread is pretty much what straight men think of relevant GLBT issues.

8. From one ally to another

it is a huge job but nothing is more important than equal rights for all citizens. I find it hard to see those kinds of things posed as jokes. So wrong. I look forward to the day that none of us has to do this anymore. I see it might get better but I think I will be dead before it is over. I needed something to make my life count again after my kids left and most of what I did was for myself. This is it and as far as I can see it is the most important work we can do. Onward! We will make a difference.

14. the sad part is that there are gay folk who see nothing wrong

with that crap here at DU, usually they are white guys of privilege but not always. It's pretty bad when straight folk can see it and they don't. They give comfort to those who are mocking them. it's truly sad . I appreciate you guys. :thumbsup:
